I just saw this commercial and it so made me laugh….cause i am so guilty of this.

how many of you are guilty?

Like i need to give you another reason why i love social media….

Did any of those numbers surprise you?

I have always said that i was an awesome multi tasker….that i can focus on several things at once and do them all well. i can be in 2 conversations at once and not miss a beat.

But the other morning i was listening to NPR (Dont stone me…i know it is liberal but it talks about cool things like this). They had an interview with a guy at Stanford that did a study on multi taskers.

It was interesting to listen to him talk about how those of us who say we are good multi taskers probably are not…and truth be told, i think i agree with him.

When i did my “social media fast” and cut out all online activities that always seem to suck me in for more hours than i would like i found that i got more done and was significantly more productive.

Here is a quote from the study….

“They’re suckers for irrelevancy,” said communication Professor Clifford Nass, one of the researchers whose findings are published in the Aug. 24 edition of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. “Everything distracts them.”

I would love to hear what you think about this? Do you consider yourself a good multi tasker….or do you function better focusing on one thing at a time?

And that…my friends…is what makes me smile. besides Jesus and Chad…social media lights my fire.

Today during a meeting i got so excited about something that i saw on twitter and in my excited and passionate voice i said,

I so almost ReTweeted that!

and i didnt think anything of it and moved on. After the meeting someone called me out and said that it was so funny that i just threw that term around like everyone should know what i meant….so the more i thought about it i realized that in the same way Christians have their own language that make it Christianeese and also make the “club” exclusive i think that the social media world has the same…and i wanted to bring those out in a funny matter.

So here are some Social Medianees Words…. (think about these as a 95 year old with no context)

Those are some of the things that if you say to someone with no twitter context, they would stare at you like you are stupid…i would like to come up with some more for Twitter, Facebook, Blogging.
