ummmm….so…..ya, february.

In my life group we are reading Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennen Manning and y’all it is so good. It has so many take aways it’s crazy. If you have not read it i highly recommend it…it will mess with you and bring so much freedom and amazingness to your life.

anyways, in Chapter 7 called, Paste Jewelry and Sawdust Hot Dogs. The premise of this chapter is how we can be fake and put on religion as your protection but question everything and fake our way through this life and through our faith.

This is a quote from this chapter…it messed me up, made me think about my own life and my actions.

“The way we are with each other is the truest test of our faith. How I treat a brother or sister from day to day, how I react to the sin-scarred wino on the street, how I respond to interruptions from people I dislike, how I deal with normal people in their normal confusion on a normal day may be a better indication of my reverence for life than the antiabortion sticker on the bumper of my car.”

I would love to know your thoughts.

Now, constants are a funny thing. in LOST if you dont have them you die….and a friend of mine said that i need some constants for my ever changing world.

So here they are. amidst all of the craziness of my life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness the two constants in my life are….

1. Chadley (He hates when i call him that, he will read this and be mad at me)

2. Jetters (our awesome dog…eventhough you’ve seen proof that he like Chad more than me, a mothers love stays always)

So i just wanted to share…have a happy thursday…back to your regular scheduled thursdays….

oh, and what/who are your constants?

Last night we were in life group with Crystal, David and Diane and Rindy….we just started discussing the book Ragamuffin Gospel…one of my absolute favourites…and this was one of the best parts for me. It made my heart jump. It may be the season of life that i am in, but it moved me.

“Grace strikes us when we are in great pain and restlessness.  It strikes us when we walk through the dark valley of meaningless and empty life….it strikes us when, year after year, the longed for perfection does not appear, when the old compulsions reign within us as they have for decades, when despair destroys all joy and courage.  Sometimes at the moment a wave of light breaks into our darkness, and it is a though a voice were saying, “You are accepted,  You are accepted, accepted by that which is greater than you, and the name of which you do not know.  Do not ask for the name now, perhaps you will find it later.  Do not try to do anything now; perhaps later you will do much. Do not seek anything, do not perform anything, do not intend anything.  Simply accept the fact that you are accepted.  If that happens to us, we are experiencing grace.”

You are accepted…plain and simple….you are accepted. DANG!! I mean, think about that for just a minute…you are accepted. that’s powerful!
