We are on the road…

22 Feb

Yesterday we left Birmingham.

24 hours after we intended on leaving Birmingham. But that is life.

So we loaded our lives into a U-Pack Relo Cube as well as a small U-Haul trailer and we are driving the country.

We stopped at a Hotel in Paducha Kentucky…probably one of the most comfortable beds i have ever slept in…or maybe it is that we are so tired. ;)

so now we have 16 hours to drive to Colorado Springs….but we are not in a hurry. Screen shot 2010-02-22 at 8.09.11 AM

if you want to follow our trip i would recommend following me on twitter here.

we are so grateful for everyone who came to our party and all those that we got to see before we left….our lives are richer because of our friends…so thank you.

we are so excited about this next step…but for now we are taking a week of a rest and then will hit the ground running at Whipple Creek.

we would appreciate your prayers for safe travels as well as an all around good time.  love yall and have enjoyed and cant wait to do life with ya!

Happy Thanksgiving

25 Nov

Thanksgiving- feast

Well tomorrow is Thanksgiving in the USA…and as a Canadian i typically wouldnt celebrate it in November as we celebrate it in October.  But i married and American man therefore we celebrate with his amazing family.

But the one weird thing that they do that we didnt do is they have a Thanksgiving lunch….in our family it was ALWAYS dinner….so to have lunch is still super weird for me.

But i was wondering what are some of your family Thanksgiving traditions?

Oh, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

A Franciscan Benediction

20 Feb

As you go through this weekend think on this….it has been messing with me for the last 3 days.

May God bless you with discomfort at easy answers, half truths, and superficial relationships, so that you may live deep within your heart. May God bless you with an anger at injustice, oppression, and exploitation of people so that you may work for justice, freedom and peace. May God bless you with tears to shed for those who suffer from pain, rejection, starvation, and war, so that you may reach out your hand to comfort them and turn their pain into joy. And may God bless you with enough foolishness to believe that you can make a difference in this world, so that you can do what others claim cannot be done.

What do you think?

Who’s your Daddy?

11 Feb

I was talking with someone the other day and talking about how we become our parents.

To be totally 100% honest i have this underlying fear in my life and marriage that i will end up like my dad….after 26 years of marriage i will decide for one reason or another that i am out. i dont want to do it anymore.

But i know what the word says and i am totally committed to God and to my wonderful husband Chad.

She brought this thought to my attention….it is all in perspective.

She asked,

well, who is your daddy?

She then encouraged me to change my perspective to realize that God is my dad and He is making me just like Him. Holy, blameless, committed…someone after His own heart.

So, i would like to encourage you today to think about it….change your perspective.

Who is your daddy?
