lasts

So those of you who have moved…when can the “lasts” start??

The other day i was driving and started to cry because i knew that i wouldnt drive over “that spot” once we moved.  It was the spot that the night before our wedding and the day of crazy tornadoes and weather we decided to move the location of our wedding to the same place as our reception…earlier in the day we realized that we had our last Stevens family Christmas…where we will be at Chad’s parents house in Mobile…the last one with the whole family.

as the days grow closer to the time we pack up and leave Birmingham and follow our dreams (48 days) i have begun to see life in lasts.

but i cant help but think it may be a little too early….what do you think?

Lynse, Phil and I have moved 13 times since we got married! We enjoy each place we live and look forward to new adventures with each move. I try not to think about the "lasts" because, they just may not be the "last"!! :) Either way, they only make you sad! You never know where God will bring you, but you can enjoy each day He gives you no matter where you are! Enjoy the adventure and cherish the memories!! I hope you have a wonderful experience in your new home/town!!

They really didn't start hitting me until the last couple of weeks

I've moved about 10 times, so like Shary I don't tend to look at things as lasts, but even when you think this isn't the last, you know it might be a long time until X happens again and that doesn't make it easier either.

So this season has been filled with "last Christmas/New Year's/etc at our current home" type thinking, and trying to avoid the actual lasts, as there will undoubtedly be some if we're moving half-way round the world

i can be REALLY sentimental, so i think my lasts always start too soon…

I have always been a sentimental sort as well, my lasts start the second I find out something's gonna change, and for me, it's never too soon to savor the lasts…. I bawled when I put my daughter's dolls in the attic when she entered Middle school, and have those thoughts of "lasts" every single first day of school… I think it's never too soon to remember the lasts, and that it'll help you move on when the time comes.
