taking a compliment

Last night i tweeted about not being able to take a compliment…and honestly, i thought that i was over that. You just say Thank You and move on….but something inside of me couldnt take it.

Granted it was done publicly in a room of people over a mic…several times….

so it wasnt just a one on one compliment…

so just curious, in those settings how should you take a compliment?

You smile graciously and say or nod your "Thank You."

Remember that in complimenting you they are giving thanks to The One who created you. God doesn't make crap even if we feel like it is undeserved. For the record I can't take a compliment either but I have to make the effort to see it through His eyes. Not easy… Am I making any sense?

if its in a creative context, i typically say, 'yeah, that's the cool thing about being creative, you cant even pretend it came from you… ' helps with humility…

I say thank you, but, my friends all tease me about not taking compliments and often scold me! I don't know what it is, I don't like attention or thanks because I love so much to draw the attention to everyone else. I really do!
