Summer Reading

It is finally summer time!! can you hear the angels singing??!

With summer comes a season that i love…a season to challenge myself. I like to take the summer and read a book or 2 that will challenge me. Something to make me think…to make me a better person….just to better my life.

I am asking if you have a suggestion to let me know. It doesnt have to be a new book, a trendy book…i just want something that is good and will make me better.

So come on….What have you read? What would you suggest?

Scott Montgomery suggested I read "The Heavenly Man" by Brother Yun. It wrecked me… I might suggest checking into reading something on George Muller.. His faith is truly inspirational. Documented over 50k answered prayers, with over 5k answered the same day written. Supposedly read the Bible thru 200 times in his life, with over 100 of those being on his knees… Never asked man for anything.. Only petitioned God for it, then waited on His provision…

I've been really digging a couple of books by Mark Buchanan – The Holy Wild and Your God Is Too Safe. Very challenging books.

"World Made By Hand" by James Kunstler (kinda dark). "The Road" by Cormac McCarthy (very dark but very good). "To the White Sea" and "Deliverance" by James Dickey. Just re-read "JItterbug Perfume" by Tom Robbins.
