Work email

As I have come back from my 40 days off of social media and then my week long wonderful vacation I am toying with the idea of getting my work email sent to my cell phone.

I have my pros and cons list but was wondering what your opinion is….

Should I get my work emails on my cell phone?

only if your employer pays for your phone. otherwise, there’s no reason good enough for your work-life to invade your personal-life.

I have mine sent to my phone, but I didn’t do it until I had too. I agree with Crystal’s comment b/c it can invade the personal life. Just set boundaries. Try and put your phone down every once and awhile.

you can’t access your email away from home base (Church)? I can see you now, head constantly down reading/texting…the whole world walks by…where’s Lynse? at work!

Leave work at work. I say no.

I say yes if it doesn’t cost any extra. But you have to set healthy boundaries!

Leave it at work!! Remember your recent sabatical? You will need one again very soon if you forward those emails to your cell phone. It may not cost anything monetarily but there is a cost with it. (Sorry had to put my 2 cents in!)

I would say leave it at work also. At a certain point I think you need to cretae a fine line between personal lie and work life….

Hey, okay…I’m going to have to leave my last name since there are two Moniques…wow, that’s weird.

I don’t think it’s bad. I would have it sent to my phone. Jer has his go to his…but if you know you and you know you will have a problem, then don’t do it. But I think you twitter you decided not to, lol…so there you go. :) :) :)

Glad you are back blogging. ;)

I like it because I can be on top of things and go into work the next day with it already taken care of. When I had it for my last job I had projects that had a crunch time period where it was really helpful to get those emails at night. It depends on the nature of your job, and what you desire your boundries to be, AND how often you get new emails. It could be helpful, or it could be wearing on your social life, marriage, ministry, etc. You could try it for a few weeks and see what you think.
